Elizabeth St. Underpass

Russell + Mills Studios assisted Ditesco, Inc. with urban design and landscape architecture for the Shields/Elizabeth Underpass near Campus West in Fort Collins, CO including the development of construction documents. A collaboratively designed plan was developed in order to advance previous design concepts to become more palatable for property owners and enhance the overall constructibility and efficiency while maintaining the initial project intent of creating an open, soft and inviting experience for users that helps reduce canyon-like effects typical of these facilities. In addition, pedestrian bike crossing options were studied, as well as effective integration of current vehicular movements and owners’ needs on the adjacent CSU Campus and retail development.
